La la Land

Anyone who will hear the movie title “La la land” has the hint to expect a musical film, isn’t it?  So I had my way to explore what’s with this movie that made it a recipient of the record breaking 7 Golden Globes awards.

This 2016 American romantic musical comedy-drama film written and directed by Damien Chazelle, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone with 196 more casts charmed its way through the city of Los Angeles, catering a creative vision for the foolish dreamers who dreamed, for those who are searching someone in the crowd, who will never stop chasing all the lights that shine like every place in the world would turn into city of stars. (Yes, i am now prattling about their soundtracks.) 😉

Train to Busan

“Is this another undying zombie genre movie with all the lashing of human flesh and a run- for-your-life show?”

Whether we love zombie-themed movies or not, it appears to have hundreds of it recreated in films. (e.g. Zombie Nation, Zombie Nightmare, Zombies of Mora Tau, Zombie Planet, Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!)

Last May 13th,  with Yeun Sang-ho’s  live-action debut,  a South Korean zombie thriller film, Train to Busan (Bu-san-haeng)  held its premiere in the Midnight Screenings section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.  While we have varieties of zombie horror movies, this one has its own way of stirring the emotions, making nerve wracking scenes that made millions of theatergoers go wild!

Me Before You

It’s Lou before Will

I have this fondness catching up with bestselling novels groomed into  beautiful movies. (That’s why I love Nicholas Sparks’,  Twilight Saga, Divergent Series etc.) So i gave a shot of Jojo Moyes’ masterpiece as I watched it at noon time with my close friends despite of the rural scorching heat, rushed hours and activities lining up that day. Weew! We finally got inside the cinema almost 10 minutes after MBY started. 😀

Still Angry?

What else could I write about being Angry  than to stick it with word Birds? 😀  Truth is, I don’t really feel about writing Anger on my blogroll. I remember a qoute saying “Never write a letter while you are angry.” Nor a post will do.  That’s really out of my idea.  But because I was curious about the upcoming movie of this famous video game, I would talk about  The Angry Birds Movie  which will be soon on theaters nationwide!

The Angry Birds Movie  is a 2016 3D computer-animated action-adventure comedy film based on the video game series, directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly (in their directorial debuts), produced by John Cohen and Catherine Winder, and written by Jon Vitti. The film was animated by Sony Pictures Imageworks.  (wikiContinue reading

POV of Divergent Series

It was Friday when I have to arrive early at my boarded room to get some rest and a sound sleep, preparing for a big event on the next day. I don’t usually  tuck into bed early and so I glanced through what’s up on the HBO channel. And that was the time I slept almost eleven, stirred upon the movie I watched with my boardmate Riza. And the next day ? I was babbling about Tris and Four 😀

The Classic

“When the sun shines I think of you;
When the dim moonlight is on the spring I think of you.”

A tale of deeply rooted friendship, unrequited love, culture driven plot with its playful fate that travels from time to time which is conquered in the present by what was in the classic.

The Classic  was filmed last 2003 as a South Korean romance melodrama film directed by Kwak Jae-yong .(With the same production of the highest grossing Korean film My Sassy Girl ). I first watched this movie with some friends/churchmates near our vicinity last 2009. Like a surreal memory, I had a hard time recalling the flow/details of the story except for one thing – that downreaching feeling and emotional attachment with the two main characters –   Joon-ha (Jo Seung-woo)  and Joo- hee  (Son Ye-jin). Quick Movie Review

Sometimes we sigh with the words “Nothing Lasts” or get mad with the turgidity of “Till we meet again”.

Instead of getting into the maladroit of life, relationships or simply the twists of events, we can jump into the rife of “Thanks! It made me a better one!!” and appreciate every ounce of joy in welcoming a new phase in our lives. We should comprehend the fact that things won’t  rotate on the same orbit but we will always carry with us the resounding learnings that will make Farewells and Good-byes as pleasant as a sincere Thank You.

This may sound a bit too juvenile but I just wanna share some of the emphatic virtues on the three Tagalog Movies that I watched with friends during our rest days. 🙂 Continue reading
