On Taking Risks

Why do we try when we know we have to lose before we win?
Why do we risk when we know that in the end is the possibility of failing?
Why do we leap from our comfort zones when it was named like that because it felt safer?
Why do we aim beyond what is “enough” and pursue to dig deeper?

Week ago, I had attended a seminar about Personality Development. It was an effective guide about self-evaluation as we point out our strengths and weaknesses once in a while. It made me think outside the box and go beyond what is essential. Youth is the best time to go after what we want in life and who we want to become as our future self. There’s no other perfect time to shoot for our dreams than today.  And because I, myself, is still a dreamer in progress, I have here guidelines  through research of 10 perceptions about  how should we handle risks by Sir Josh Altman ,  the author of   It’s Your Move –– a book  offering aspiring entrepreneurs and established professionals tips and insights to help them outsmart the competition.

Pursuit

When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.”
– Jean Shinoda Bolen

Each of us has tales to tell about how we unearthed the gift given to us – may it be in art, music or literature. We all have that safe haven where we can translate ourselves into any form of beauty (visual, auditory, printed words). We all have that sense of being at home by doing the things that we love while  attracting those who we share the same passion/hobby. It’s like reaching out a hand to a stranger, feeding enthusiasm to the world and participating to the fast-paced journey in this modern era that we live in.

Dream on!

Getting on track with the days that gone by, it was all a matter of  redirection and seeing things at the brighter side. Though we all have things that we long for, dreams that we’ve been praying for, people that we’ve been missing for years, endeavors that we eagerly want to pursue and places in mind that we may picture our self starting anew, — it is but a noble thing to note to self, that still, “Patience is a virtue.”

“That which is currently beyond your capabilities now, does not have to be so forever”
― Chris Murray

Aiming for the sky requires optimism and hard work.  Truly, there is no royal road to success; one must overcome the bumps and still manage to keep calm and resolute along the way.  It is a premium that books and success gurus can point out tips on taking the steps in planning out goals like this and this.

On Chances and Changes

There are a lot of movies and songs about time travel — looking back the past and seeing what it does with the present moment. Upon travelling the last time, with the rain pouring down and the music playing in the background from RNB to the Classic ones, I was in a trance of seeing the world backwards. Would there be a lot of changes if I smiled to the stranger that I met  one sunny day?  Could it alter  my whole life if I chose another course? Would it be a lot better if I stayed quiet and should’ve  kept my thoughts?

Twists and Turns

Things in life may happen as a bolt out of the blue — unexpected events that may crash your daily routine, turn your mind set caught unawares, or simply cause  you to struck dumb.  Good news is, not all twists and turns  are for you to be just frighten and shaken in sudden without any reason, for sometimes, things happen in surprise as a blessing in disguise.  *quick sigh*

Happy Heart ♥

We’ve been wishing happiness to be felt by the all the people we love. It is a sensation that travels visibly from home to our workplace or in school; elsewhere, it resides in every heart that felt  pure joy and contentment. Happiness is as high as a peak of a mountain and as shallow as a river that never runs dry. It is an emotion so extensive, deep and vast, yet we may find it in one hello and one smile.  🙂 Continue reading

Resounding Thoughts

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

~Robert Frost

I couldn’t contain my emotions in reading a message from a wonderful mother ( I believe) to her son in her garden of wordpress .   They said, everyone is  a child but not every person has given the privilege to be a parent.
